JaSu Darnell, who is most commonly known as the Locin’ Lady Barber (or to some, JB) was born in Lawrence, Kansas on the 4th of February in 1987 to parents with Jamaican and American roots. She later moved to Kansas City, Missouri and began her career. JB is a licensed barber, certified loctician, entrepreneur, educator, and mentor.
Migrating from Kansas City, Missouri, JB has made Texas her home. Servicing and Educating locally in the DFW area and nationally. Specializing in barbering, loc maintenance, color, educating and more, she focuses on achieving and maintaining healthy hair. She has also formulated a special blend of oils that help promote hair growth, relieve tension, and moisturize the hair/scalp and made them available to the world. Because JB is a certified loctician, she began making small social media videos educating the public on healthy loc maintenance and since then has expanded into in-person group classes, virtual classes, and travels nationally for in person classes.
JB’s fun personality, knowledge, and amazing talent has drawn people from near and far to visit her shop.
“I've always believed that you have to love what you do in order to make an impact on the world. Becoming a barber and loctician has really proven me right. I believe what sets me apart is the fact that I absolutely love what I do. In conjunction with being passionate about my craft, I care about the health of my client’s hair. I maintain their locs with health, strength, and longevity in mind.”
